This page is dedicated to the many nonrenewable energy sources (commonly referred to as fossil fuels) that our society currently relies on.
The most known fossil fuels are oil, coal, and natural gas.
Oil has been the driving force for what we now refer to as the Industrial Revolution, from which we developed life changing advancements. Some advantages developed that we now take for granted are the mass production of food, medicine, the internal combustion engine, and every plastic object around us. Oil has single-handedly transformed the world from local societies to a global one within a mere 200 years.
Coal and natural gas have also been extremely advantageous. Both are used to supply nearly every home/building with electricity. Both are also used as cooking sources such as grills being either charcoal or gas powered.
These are just a few advantages we experience because of fossil fuels. However, there are many more we experience everyday that we take for granted.
